How to Recover Data on Android Device

Data loss is a common issue for Android smartphone users. Many of them have lost their files or documents on their cellphones and they are wondering how they can get them back.

They lost their data because of various reasons. Many of them just accidentally deleted the data on their devices. But for some, their cellphone are broken or stolen, and they are trying to access the data inside. In some cases, the files or documents just disappeared without any warning.

Method 1: Use the built-in backup feature to restore your data

If you have previously enabled the automatic backup and restore features and set up a backup account, you would be able to get back some of your data. These features automatically back up your app data and some system settings to the server of your Google accounts. These data and settings will be restored automatically when you reinstall your applications.

If you don’t know how to enable the built-in backup feature, follow the steps below:

1) On your Android device, and then tap Settings.

2) In Settings, tap Backup & reset.

3) Turn on Back up my data and set up a Backup account.

4) Your cellphone will automatically back up and restore the data and settings.

 

Method 2: Use your cloud storage service to restore your data

If you have formed a habit of storing your data onto a cloud storage service (such as Google Drive and Dropbox), your are in luck. You can restore those data without any trouble.

Just sync your device to your service and let the application download your files and documents for you. You will get back your lost data very soon.

 

Method 3: Try a data recovery program or service

Using a data recovery program or service is one of the most effective way to recover your data on your Android device. This is the case especially when you haven’t backed up your data.

To find a really helpful program or service, you need to do some research on the Internet. Try several computer programs or mobile applications and find out the one that really works for you. Or search on the Internet for the data recovery service providers near you. Compare the prices they offer, the services they provide and their reputations before you choose a right one for you.

Be extra careful, as the more trustworthy a data recovery program or service provider is, the more likely it is to recover your Android device data.
