How to fix There is no Internet connection

Here are the solutions to fix There is no Internet connection error. You shouldn’t have to try them all. Just try each one in turn until everything’s working again.

  1. Troubleshoot your Internet connection
  2. Reset your TCP/IP and renew IP address

Fix 1: Troubleshoot your Internet connection

If you see this “There is no Internet connection” error in your browser, you can first run the troubleshooter in your computer to troubleshoot the network issue and fix the error. Here’s how to do it:

If you’re using Windows 10:

1) Type Troubleshoot in the search box on your desktop, and click Troubleshoot.

2) Click Internet Connections, and click Run the troubleshooter.

If you’re using Windows 8:

1) Type Network problems in the Search box on your desktop, and then select Identify and repair network problems in the list.

1) Right-click the Network icon in the notification area, and then select Troubleshoot problems.

Fix 2: Reset your TCP/IP and renew IP address

Resetting your IP address can help remove the error “There is no Internet connection”, and help fix the connection problems in your computer.

1) Type cmd in the search bar, right click on Command Prompt (or cmd if you’re using Windows 7), and select Run as administrator.

2) In Command Prompt, type in the following commands. Press Enter on your keyboard after each command.

ipconfig /release 
ipconfig /all
ipconfig /flushdns
ipconfig /renew
netsh int ip set dns
netsh winsock reset

3) Exit Command Prompt and restart your computer.

Open your browser and check if the error has been removed.

 

Fix 3: Update your network driver

The missing or outdated network driver can cause the error “There is no Internet connection”, so you should update your network driver to the latest version.
