What is Intel Management Engine Interface (IMEI)? 

There are many devices and drivers that we have little knowledge about in our computers, Intel (R) Management Engine Interface (IMEI) is one of them. It could be a rather difficult to understand word, so to make it simple, here is what you need to know. 

Intel first came out with IMEI, started with older chipsets. Then IMEI evolved, now it is called AMT(Active Management Technology). 1: Windows Update
2: Manually reinstall driver
3: Update the driver 

Method 1: Windows Update

First of all, you need to check to see if you have any updates or patches from Windows Update that you missed out on. If find any, please update them first before you proceed with the following steps. 

1) Follow the path: Start button > Settings > Update & security

2) Click the Check for updates button. 

If found any, please make sure you update all of the device drivers or patches. Then restart your computer. 

Method 2: Manually reinstall driver


1) Open Device Manager. Expand System devices. Right-click Intel (R) Management Engine Interface and click Uninstall

2) When prompted with the uninstall confirmation, check the box for Delete the driver software for this device, and then click OK to continue. 

3) Reboot your computer. Windows will automatically help you update the correct driver once you restart. 

Method 3: Update the driver

1) Open Device Manager. Expand System devices. Right-click Intel (R) Management Engine Interface and click Update Driver Software….

2) Select Search automatically for driver software

3) If you are seeing the following notification: Windows has determined the driver software for your device is up to date. You might need to download and update the driver manually.
