AMD Ryzen Master is a utility that empowers users to monitor and overclock their Ryzen CPUs in real time. However, some encounter a frustrating error “Unable to initialize. Kindly reinstall the program. Hence aborting!” when launching it.
This issue often stems from various factors, ranging from Windows security features like Core Isolation to remnants of previous Ryzen Master installations or outdated drivers. If you’re seeing this error, the troubleshooting methods below could help eliminate the conflict and get Ryzen Master up and running again:
- Turn off Memory Integrity
- Update Your Graphics and Chipset Drivers
- Disable Windows Driver Blocklist
- Reinstall Ryzen Master

1. Turn off Memory Integrity
One of the most common causes of this error is a Windows security feature called Memory Integrity (also known as Core Isolation). While it’s designed to prevent malicious code from gaining access to protected memory areas, it can sometimes block legitimate tools like Ryzen Master from working properly.
Disabling Memory Integrity temporarily may allow Ryzen Master to initialize without interference. You can always turn it back on later to maintain system security.
Here’s how to do it:
- Press the Windows logo key to invoke the Search bar. Type windows security, and select it from the list of results.
- From the left pane, select Device security, then click Core isolation details.
- Toggle Off Memory integrity.
- Restart your device for the changes to take effect.
- If this doesn’t work for you, undo the changes. Follow the similar steps to turn on Memory integrity to prevent malware and attackers from modifying and tampering with your operating system memory.
2. Update Your Graphics and Chipset Drivers
Your graphics and chipset drivers are essential for enabling Windows to interact correctly with your hardware. If they’re outdated or corrupted, Ryzen Master may be unable to access the critical system interfaces it requires and fail to start. And multiple user reports confirm that updating both GPU and chipset drivers help Ryzen Master run smoothly.
To update your graphics driver, you can either open Device Manager, locate your display adapter, and select Update driver, or visit the official support page of your GPU manufacturer to download the latest version and install it, then restart your PC.
Updating the chipset driver involves visiting the AMD Drivers and Support page, choosing the correct package for your system, downloading and installing it by following the on-screen instructions. While this manual approach is effective, it can feel tedious and time-consuming.
That’s where Driver Easy comes in. It’s a trusted driver updater tool that automatically detects any outdated or missing drivers, covering everything from graphics cards to chipsets, network adapters, USB ports, and more. Once it identifies the necessary updates, Driver Easy downloads and installs WHQL- or OEM-certified drivers directly from the manufacturers. Besides, you can always roll back or choose to install a specific version of driver if the latest one doesn’t work as expected for you.
All it takes is a few mouse clicks:
- Download and install Driver Easy.
- Run Driver Easy and click the Scan Now button. Driver Easy will then scan your computer and detect any problem drivers.
- Click Activate & Update next to your flagged device to start a 7-day free trial or upgrade to Driver Easy Pro. Either option will automatically download and install the latest drivers for you.
- Restart your computer for the changes to take effect. If you need any assistance while using Driver Easy, feel free to contact our support team at support@drivereasy.com.
- If your issue persists, proceed to the next fix.
3. Disable Windows Driver Blocklist
Windows may block the Ryzen Master driver as potentially unsafe. Temporarily disabling this blocklist has helped users resolve the “Unable to initialize” error.
To do this, follow these steps:
- On your keyboard, press the Windows logo key + R simultaneously to open the Run box. Type regedit and hit Enter to open Registry Editor.
- Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\CI\Config. Look for a value named VulnerableDriverBlocklistEnable:
If it exists, double-click it and change the Value to 0, then click OK to save the changes.
If it does not exist, right-click the empty space and select New > DWORD (32-bit), name it VulnerableDriverBlocklistEnable. Double-click it, set Value data = 0, and click OK to save the changes. - Once done, restart your PC and try launching Ryzen Master again. However, if it doesn’t do the trick, we strongly recommend you re-enable it by changing the value data back to 1 or delete the key.
4. Reinstall Ryzen Master
If all else fails, you might need to consider reinstall the utility. Leftover files, old drivers, or registry remnants can cause initialization issues. A clean reinstall ensures a fresh start.
- Press Win + R, type appwiz.cpl, and press Enter.
- Locate AMD Ryzen Master, right-click it and select Uninstall. Then go to the installation file to completely delete the remaining files.
- Once done, restart your PC. Download and install the latest Ryzen Master from the official website. Make sure to choose the correct package for your CPU series.
If you’re greeted by the error “RYZEN MASTER INSTALLATION is prohibited from installation on this system.”…

If you see the error “RYZEN MASTER INSTALLATION is prohibited on this system,” first make sure you have the right installer. AMD offers different Ryzen Master packages for different processor series, so be sure to download the one that matches your CPU.

To identify which Ryzen series your processor belongs to — 3000 or newer, or 2000 and older, take these steps:
- On your keyboard, press the Windows logo key + R simultaneously to open the Run box. Type msinfo32 and hit Enter.
- From System Summary, you’ll see the information on your Processor.
Here in my example, I have the Ryzen 5 3500U processor. The first number in the model name indicates the generation/series. So mine starts with 3, which means it’s 3000 series.
While the first number in the model name of the processor, Ryzen 3 2200G, starts with 2. Therefore, it’s a 2000 series.
