Fix 1: Check if your PC meets the minimum system requirements for Hearthstone

This Hearthstone lagging issue may occur if your PC fails to meet the minimum system requirements for Hearthstone. Here we list out the both the minimum requirements and the recommended specifications (if you’re looking for a smoother and more enjoyable gaming experience) specifications for Hearthstone.
  MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS RECOMMENDED SPECIFICATIONS

PROCESSOR Intel® Pentium® D or AMD® Athlon™ 64 X2 Intel Core™ 2 Duo E6600 (2.4 GHz) or AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+ (2.6 GHz) or better
GRAPHICS CARD NVIDIA® GeForce® 6800 (256 MB) or ATI™ Radeon™ X1600 Pro (256 MB) or better NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT (512 MB) or ATI Radeon HD 4850 (512 MB) or better
MEMORY 4 GB RAM
If you’re not sure whether your PC meets the system requirements for Hearthstone, just follow the instructions below to check the basic specs of your PC:
  1. On your keyboard, press the Windows logo key  and R at the same time, then type dxdiag and press Enter.

  2. Under the System tab and you can check the Operating System and Memory on your PC.

  3. Click the Display tab and you can check what graphics card your PC is using.

You’d probably have to upgrade your hardware if any of the above-mentioned item fails to meet its minimum requirement.

Fix 2: Update your graphics driver

A corrupt or outdated graphics driver is one of the common reason of the Hearthstone lagging issue. So you should update your graphics driver to see if it fixes the issue.  If you don’t have the time, patience or skills to update the driver manually, you can do it automatically with Driver Easy. Driver Easy will automatically recognize your system and find the correct drivers for it. You don’t need to know exactly what system your computer is running, you don’t need to be troubled by the wrong driver you would be downloading, and you don’t need to worry about making a mistake when installing. Driver Easy handles it all. You can update your drivers automatically with either the FREE or the Pro version of Driver Easy. But with the Pro version it takes just 2 steps (and you get full support and a 30-day money back guarantee):
  1. Download and install Driver Easy.
  2. Run Driver Easy and click the Scan Now button. Driver Easy will then scan your computer and detect any problem drivers.

  3. Click the Update button next to the flagged graphics driver to automatically download the correct version of that driver, then you can manually install it. Or click Update All to automatically download and install the correct version of all the drivers that are missing or out of date on your system. (This requires the Pro version which comes with full support and a 30-day money back guarantee. You’ll be prompted to upgrade when you click Update All.)

  4. Restart your computer, launch Hearthstone and see if the problem has been resolved. If the Hearthstone lagging issue still persists, move on to Fix 3, below.

  3. Under the Hearthstone section, click Reset in-Game Options. Then click Reset to confirm the reset.

  2. Click General. Then under WHEN I LAUNCH A GAME, select Exit Battle.net completely from the drop-down menu and click Done.

  3. Run Hearthstone again and see if the lagging has been reduced.

Fix 5: Delete the log.config file

Deleting the log.config file is another proven method to reduce lag according to user feedback. Here’re the steps to delete the file:
  1. In Blizzard, click Hearthstone > Options > Show in Explorer.

  2. As soon as the Hearthstone folder pops up, completely exit Blizzard (and Hearthstone).
  3. Double-click on the Hearthstone folder and then delete the log.config file.
