Option One: From a Hard Reboot
Option Two: From Settings
Option Three: From Sign-in Screen

Option One: From a Hard Reboot

If you are unable to boot into Windows, please choose this option.

Warning: We do not recommend you to precede this hard reboot option because restarting a computer without support of operating system could result in data loss, incomplete installations and suspension and corruption of any processes that were running before the reboot. Please do not try this when your computer is at a good state.

1) Press and hold the power button on your computer until it powers off.

2) Press the power button on your computer to turn it on.

3) Repeat step 1) and 2) until you see Please wait during the boot. It usually takes three repeats (more than three repeats if this is not the first time that you did this) for it to come up. You need to try until you can see the Please wait coming out.

4) When the following page shows, tab or click See advanced repair options.

5) Choose Troubleshoot

6) The choose Advanced options

7) Choose Startup Settings.

8) Click the Restart button here.

9) It is suggested that you choose from the option 4, 5, 6 here by pressing F4, F5, or F6.

Option Two: From Settings

1) Type settings in the search bar, and then choose Settings that comes up.

2) Click on the Update & security icon.

3) On the left side of the panel, choose Recovery. On the right side of the panel, choose Restart Now under the option Advanced startup

4) Wait for a while at this page.

5) The rest of the procedure is the same with step 5) to 9) in the first option.

Option Three: From Sign-in Screen

1) Open the Start menu and click on the Power button. While pressing on the Shift key on your keyboard, click on Restart.

2) The rest of the procedure is the same with step 5) to 9) in the first option.

    Hi!

Finally in safe mode I am able to see the log in screen but the log in password is “incorrect” – says the laptop.
    Any ideas?
Thank you very much. This site helped me a lot!
