How to Fix Network Adapter Driver Issue for Windows 10

Camilla Mo, in Driver ErrorTechnical Tips
If the network adapter driver is missing, outdated or compatible, it can cause connection problems. After you upgraded to Windows 10, if your internet doesn’t work properly, it’s possible that the current driver was designed for a previous version of Windows. Update the network adapter driver to fix the problem.

You can check if there is a yellow mark next to network device name in Device Manager. Under Network adapters, if you see a yellow mark, the network driver has problems.

You can use Windows to check if an updated driver is available.

Follow these steps:

1. Go to Device Manager and  expand category  Network adapters
2. Right-click on the network device name, and then select Driver Update Software…

3. Select Search automatically for updated driver software. Follow the steps, then select Close.

The above steps above may resolve the problem, but if they not, try to update the drivers using Driver Easy. Note you need to have access to internet to run Driver Easy. If you don’t have internet due to missing network driver, you’re advised to use Offline Scan feature of Driver Easy to download and install the network driver.

Driver Easy will automatically recognize your system and find the correct drivers for it. You don’t need to know exactly what system your computer is running, you don’t need to risk downloading and installing the wrong driver, and you don’t need to worry about making a mistake when installing.

You can update your drivers automatically with either the FREE or the Pro version of Driver Easy. But with the Pro version it takes just 2 clicks (and you get full support and a 30-day money back guarantee):

1) Download and install Driver Easy.

2) Run Driver Easy and click Scan Now button. Driver Easy will then scan your computer and detect any problem drivers.

3) Click the Update button next to a flagged network driver to automatically download and install the correct version of this driver (you can do this with the FREE version). Or click Update All to automatically download and install the correct version of all the drivers that are missing or out of date on your system (this requires the Pro version – you’ll be prompted to upgrade when you click Update All).

SOLUTION!!! I know this sounds really dumb, but after trying every suggestion to get my wifi adapters back, and nothing was working, I did this. I held down the SHIFT key as I pressed SHUT DOWN. (I had restarted my computer a dozen times already with no luck). Then after waiting about 30 seconds, I turned my computer back on, and everything was back to normal. Just try it.

I am getting this issue I have noticed it is since the recent 2017 Windows 10 update- Yet my PC is absolutely pefect best its been in ages- However my tablet- well bloods boiling i’m getting angry tbh. Done every trick in the book to the point I literally did an entire restore the lot blah. It has been fine for the last two days then suddenly went to change a song on Youtube and here we fucking go agint. I am not a patient person nor am I unable to work around a PC etc, etc, I have done it all and my 2-in-1 tablet and my living room wall are very close to having a physicaly confrontation tbh. Not cool.

          Hi,

          I’m sorry that I misunderstood you. 🙁

I understand that you could not connect to the internet due to network driver problem. That’s why I recommend using Driver Easy Offline function to download the driver.

Driver Easy requires internet access to use because it needs to get access to the database to search for the latest driver. But if you have another computer, you can use Driver Easy’s offline feature to download the network driver for your the computer with no internet access.

Thanks for you kind feedback. We would try our best effort to improve our product to better serve our customers.

Thanks for the information regarding network repair! Our home network system sometimes disconnects and we have to call someone to come in and fix it for us every so often. We are thinking about just changing providers and hopefully getting a nice deal! Thanks again!

I woke up this morning and after yet another Windows 10 update my computer doesn’t work. It’s saying that I have no network adapters but when I go into device manager I have a bunch of network adapters and none of them have the yellow exclamation point. My computer is saying that all of my network adapters are up-to-date can somebody please explain how I can get out of this Windows 10 mess? PS did I mention that I hate Windows 10?

My tablet somehow deleted the network adapter you can’t even connect to WIFI at all, I looked through the device manger and its gone. It happened when it updated the afternoon around 3 PM on 3/1/2017. how do you reinstall the driver?

Thank you but I am having SO many problems (Windows 10) getting wi-fi through my 802.11n wireless LAN card which is updated and my other devices are picking up home wi-fi no problem. even when i try to connect to secured wi-fi on my pc (so it is being picked up!) and it prompts to enter security key it does not recognise the correct password. the wireless lan card just has a permanent red cross against it! it was all working fine (for a year) until about a month ago! pulling hair out

    • Bryan Gilbert

Hi Susan, it is recommended by mobile network engineers that you use 802.11b, this is the best choice apparently but your computer might not be compatible with it but I’m surprised so many PC users are having problems with Windows.
