Roblox is getting so huge in a recent couple of years. You get to play games developed by creators or build your own game, even make money with it. But gamers have been reporting bugs such as missing audio, which can be extremely annoying during gameplay.

If you also want to get the sound back on Roblox, we’ve gathered some solutions that are proven helpful for many players. (Mobile players, check out these quick tips.) You don’t have to try them all, just work the list down until you find the one that does the trick!

1: Turn up the volume for Roblox

2: Check Roblox settings

3: Set your output device

4: Update your audio drivers

5: Configure the audio channel of your speaker

6: Run the Windows audio troubleshooter

7: Reinstall Roblox

Before you try out the following solutions, make sure you’ve tried to restart your PC and Roblox since it may help solve the issue.

Note: Although we’re only going to cover solutions for PC users, mobile players can still check out these quick fixes on your device:

For iOS, make sure you have turned the ringer on. You can do this by flipping the little switch on the left side of your iPhone to the right.
For Android, you need to locate the Roblox app in settings, and give permission for it to display sound. Clearing cache data could also help.

Fix 1: Turn up the volume for Roblox

You may already have turned up the volume of the speakers on your computer. But you can also check the audio for Roblox to see if it’s enabled and adjust the volume:

  1. Right-click the little speaker icon on the far right side of your taskbar, then click Open Volume mixer.
  2. Scroll to find Roblox. Make sure the audio is unmuted and you can bring up the volume to 50 by default.

Check if the sound is back on Roblox. If not or you didn’t find Roblox in Volume mixer, move on to the next solution.

Fix 2: Check Roblox settings

The next thing you want to do is to check if the sound is enabled in your Roblox game. Roblox allows players to adjust settings for individual games. You can follow the steps below:

  1. Launch Roblox, play the game that you find audio missing.
  2. Click the Roblox logo icon at the top-left corner of your Roblox window.
  3. Switch to the Settings tab. Make sure your audio is not muted and the Volume is not too low.

If you have turned up the in-game volume but still hear no sound, try the next solution.

Fix 3: Set your output device

Sometimes you don’t hear the sound because it’s playing through other output devices instead of your computer speaker. If you need to switch the output device, follow these steps:

  1. Right-click the little speaker icon on the far right side of your taskbar, then click Open Sound Settings.
  2. Under Output, make sure you choose your speaker or the device you wish to use. You can double-check by clicking App volume and device preferences and setting the output device and volume for Roblox.

Sometimes the devices connected to your PC could interfere with normal audio output. If you’ve adjusted the above settings but your computer speaker still doesn’t work, make sure to unplug/disconnect devices such as your headset or external speaker from your PC.

If the problem persists, move on to the next solution.

Fix 4: Update your audio driver

An outdated or faulty driver can cause a lot of problems, which could include the no sound issue. In our case, you may want to update your audio driver, to make sure it’s functioning properly.

There are two ways you can get the right driver for your audio device: manually or automatically.

Manual driver update – If you’re confident playing around with your PC settings, you can update your audio driver via Device Manager.

Automatic driver update – If you don’t have the time, patience, or computer skills to update your driver manually, you can, instead, do it automatically with Driver Easy. Driver Easy will automatically recognize your system and find the correct driver for your exact audio device, then download and install them correctly:

  1. Download and install Driver Easy.
  2. Run Driver Easy and click the Scan Now button. Driver Easy will then scan your computer and detect any problem drivers.
  3. Click the Update button next to the flagged audio driver to automatically download the correct version of the driver, then you can manually install it (you can do this with the FREE version).

Or click Update All to automatically download and install the correct version of all the drivers that are missing or out of date on your system. (This requires the Pro version which comes with full support and a 30-day money-back guarantee. You’ll be prompted to upgrade when you click Update All.)
The Pro version of Driver Easy comes with full technical support.
If you need assistance, please contact Driver Easy’s support team at support@drivereasy.com.

Restart your PC for the new drivers to take effect. Run Roblox to see if the problem persists.

Fix 5: Configure the audio channel of your speaker

Some gamers have reported that modifying the audio channel of their speakers has solved the problem. To configure the settings:

  1. On your keyboard, press the Windows logo key and R to invoke the Run box.
  2. Type control panel, then click OK.
  3. Switch to View by: Small icons, then click Sound.
  4. Under the Playback tab, select Speakers then click Configure.
  5. Switch the audio channel to Stereo. Click Test to see if the audio works normally, then click Next and follow the on-screen instructions to finish the configuration.

Run Roblox to see if the sound is back.

Fix 6: Run the Windows audio troubleshooter

Windows provides troubleshooters for common computer problems. You may have touched most of the audio settings that could bring back the sound, but this troubleshooter could still help identify any issues left and suggest a fix. Run the troubleshooter by following these steps:

  1. On your keyboard, press the Windows logo key and R to invoke the Run box.
  2. Type control panel, then click OK.
  3. Switch to View by: Small icons, then click Troubleshooting.
  4. Click Troubleshoot audio playback.
  5. Click Next to run the troubleshooter.
  6. Wait for it to detect problems. This usually takes only a few seconds.
  7. Select your speaker, then click Next.
  8. It would suggest you turn off the audio enhancements for better sound quality. Click Yes, Open Audio Enhancements if you wish to do so. If you click no, it will skip to the scan results.
  9. Under the Advanced tab, make sure the Enable audio enhancements option is unchecked. Click Apply then OK.
  10. The troubleshooter will show you the results and fix the problems if it can. You can close the troubleshooter now.

Check the sound on Roblox to see if this solution works.

Fix 7: Reinstall Roblox

We understand you may have tried other solutions to avoid this step, but sometimes reinstalling Rovlox could help. Your account will be logged out when you uninstall the client. Follow these steps to perform the reinstallation:

  1. On your keyboard, press the Windows logo key and R to invoke the Run box.
  2. Type control panel, then click OK.
  3. Switch to View by: Category, then click Uninstall a program.
  4. Find Roblox player, right-click it then click Uninstall.
  5. Restart your PC.
  6. After you restart your computer, make sure other programs are closed. Go ahead and download Roblox.
  7. Find RobloxPlayerLauncher.exe in your Downloads folder, double-click to install.

You can log on to your account and play a game to see if the sound is back.
