Fix Code 43 Error: Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems

By Camilla Mo in Driver Error Tags: DriversWindows 10

In Device Manager, error “Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43) ” can occur if the device hardware fails or if the device driver fails. Mostly, reinstalling driver can fix the problem.

To fix this problem, follow steps below:

1. In Device Manager, right-click on the problem device and click Uninstall. This is to uninstall the driver. (Here take steps in Windows 7 as reference which apply to Windows 10, 8, 8.1, XP & Vista.)

2. A dialog box may pop up asking you to confirm the installation. Click OK then Device Manager will uninstall the device.

3. After uninstalling the driver, in Device Manager, click Scan for hardware changes in menu at the top of the Window. Then Device Manager will scan your system and automatically reinstall the device.

The steps above should resolve the problem, but if they don’t, or you’re not confident playing around with drivers manually, you can do it automatically with Driver Easy.

Driver Easy will automatically recognize your system and find the correct drivers for it. You don’t need to know exactly what system your computer is running, you don’t need to risk downloading and installing the wrong driver, and you don’t need to worry about making a mistake when installing.

You can update your drivers automatically with either the FREE or the Pro version of Driver Easy. But with the Pro version it takes just 2 clicks (and you get full support and a 30-day money back guarantee):

1) Download and install Driver Easy.

2) Run Driver Easy and click Scan Now button. Driver Easy will then scan your computer and detect any problem drivers.

3) Click the Update button next to the specific driver to automatically download and install the correct version of this driver (you can do this with the FREE version). Or click Update All to automatically download and install the correct version of all the drivers that are missing or out of date on your system (this requires the Pro version – you’ll be prompted to upgrade when you click Update All).

Thanks for your comment. The problem was caused because the System File D3DCOMPILER_47.dll is missing. It could be accidentally removed.

Please try to run sfc /scannow to scan your system to fix the corrupted files.
Follows steps below to run sfc /scannow command.
    1. Type cmd in the search box.
    2. Right click Command Prompt and select Run as administrator.
    3. When Command Prompt opens, type sfc /scannow and press Enter on your keybord. Then the system scan will begin. Please note the scan will take some time.

If that doesn’t work, please provide us with your System Version. You can send your System Version using Driver Easy Feedback function. Our support team will help make a further check as soon as receive your information. Thanks.

If I can be of any further assistance, please comment again. Thanks.

  • geoffrey

Does not fix my issue. I disabled the driver. The real issue is 1) that I cannot remove a blue tooth device from my devices. 2) The blue tooth (Jam Thrill) will no longer connect or show up under blue tooth, but works fine on all my other devices such as cell phone/ipad. 3) It happened right about the time I updated my computer.

Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)
